About the Illustrator:
Wendy was born in Sussex England and began her interest in art at an early age.
Eventually moving to America with her family, Wendy obtained her degree from Palomar College of Art in California and went on to further her education in Connecticut, New England.
During her freelance career in San Diego, California, Wendy received many fine art commissions including greetings cards and illustrations for children's books from Capstone Press. Her portfolio includes a vast variety of published works in newsprint and magazines, as well as bespoke projects.
She eventually moved to France, where she found herself consumed with renovating a 200-year-old farmhouse with her husband. During that period she found delight and amusement in sketching and painting the many feral cats and their habits, as well as the local folk and their routines and traditions, most of which became quite humorous.
Wendy possesses a spirit full of laughter and kindness and is definitely a woman who sees life on the funnier side. Her humorous artwork has brought a smile to many a face and she always has a story behind every painting, bringing every character she paints to life in her own imaginative way.
This lent itself naturally to writing and she embarked on a different kind of artistic expression. As she conjured up wonderful worlds of whimsy with her pen, creating scenes in her imagination that we are all familiar with. It is this ability to see an ordinary, everyday situation and turn it into an original creative work that has Wendy’s fans so enraptured. Things that we all see and know are given a new life with an artful stroke of her brush or pen and these little moments are captured forever with warmth.
